Mumbai University Exam News | Date to submit applications extended till September  



Last date to submit the application for final year examination has been extended. Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant confirmed the same yesterday. Students who have not yet applied or need to complete their applications can now do so till September 25. Mumbai University final year examinations are scheduled to begin from September 25.

Speaking to the reporters, Samant spoke of the extension and also the enrolment number. As many as 2, 47, 500 students are set to appear for the examinations. Mumbai University, he shared, has the highest enrolment of students in the state. "The varsity has extended the period for submission of exam applications to September 20. 2,47,500 students would appear for the exams," he said. 



Out of the  total students who have applied, 1,70,000 are regular students and the rest are the students who would be writing their examination for clearing the backlog. The minister also clarified that the certificates will have no mention of exam being held during COVID-19 or a COVID certificate, as was feared by many.

Earlier, the certificates from agriculture university in the state had a mention regarding COVID. The move was widely criticised by students and experts alike. Allaying such fears, the minister confirmed that, "The certificate will be normal, a regular piece of paper.” 


Mumbai University Final Year Exams

After much wait and a legal battle, Mumbai University’s final year examination is set to begin from September 25, 2020. The practical examinations have already started. The examination would be conducted in online mode. All students who do not have the facility to appear for the examination online would be allowed to physically appear for the examination, under the strict SOPs and guidelines as laid out. The paper would be in MCQ format. Colleges have been asked to  a question bank for the same but clarity on sharing the same with students is still awaited.
